Formerly know as Saron Gas, Seether-Disclaimer produced by Jay Baumgardner (Papa Roach, Drowning Pool) is the answer to the post nickelback period most hard rock fans have been waiting for. This 12 song album is a relief effort into the hard rock genre that bleeds the ears and soothes the senses all at the same time.

Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Shaun Morgan has a distinct similarity to Kurt Cobain in his voice work, and it makes you feel like you’re listening to the deceased legend immediately as you hear the opening song “]Gasoline”]. The track “]Driven Under”] is a perfect example of brilliant lyrical work and first-rate songwriting. It takes you into the world of a f*cked up relationship and a crazy bitch with a gun. It’s unbelievably deep music that just simply has to be heard. The music itself follows more along the lines of Nickelback and Creed then Nirvana, but there are a few tracks present that you can tell had Nirvana influence. Not too heavy, not too soft, the tracks offer an excellent variation of hard and soft rock. This band will definitely head toward the top of the charts with the right promotion and interest.

Seether will play Ozzfest 2002 this year, a great place to promote themselves and their music. Although playing Ozzfest is a great accomplishment in itself, the concert may be the wrong venue to show the world their music (the album itself is due Aug. 20th, long after Ozzfest is over). The reason why is that most Ozzfest fans are looking for an intense show, with lots of reason to head bang and mosh. Seether may or may not be able to provide this for them. Tracks like “]Pride”], “]F*ck It”], “]Pig”], “]Your Bore”] “]Gasoline”] and “]Needles”] would be perfect for the concert, while the other tracks may be too soft.

Overall, Seether is a perfect addition to your music collection. Catch them at Ozzfest and buy the cd later on this year. It’s just that good.
